Monday 10/30 – Side by Side Session One (“More than Meets the Eye”) from 7-8:30pm. Doors open at 6:45pm. This program is designed for both young (Jr & Sr High youth) and old to learn and experience their shared faith “Side by Side”! Together we will learn from “Altaration: The Mystery of the Mass Revealed”, which is a DVD 5 part series from Ascension Press. This seriesaddresses head-on one of the biggest problems we all face: How do we get Catholic teens (and adults) to appreciate the awesome beauty and mystery of the Mass…and to actually look forward to attending and participating? Location TBD.
What is Altarations? Through a unique learning experience, including powerful cinematography and workbook resources, participants will come to see the Mass and the priesthood in a dramatically new way. Alteration is designed to stir thought, create conversation, dispel myths, and inspire souls to a deep and lasting love for the Mass.
After experiencing the “why” behind the “what” of the Mass, Catholic teens (and adults) will…Enter Prepared, Participate with Sincerity, and Exit with Purpose!
“Altarations captures the beauty and depth of the Mass, while its top-notch production makes the videos and resources relevant and accessible, particularly for young people.” -Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York
Light refreshments will be served. Workbook recommended but not required. Contact Deanna Stratton (610-406-0452) if interested in workbook by 10/16 or order for yourself at AscencionPress.com.
Questions you may have:
I’m a teen interested but my parents are busy. Can I still come?
Absolutely! We just ask that your parents fill out a permission slip when dropping you off. That way should you fall off your chair and break your arm, we’ll have a number to contact them with. Rules! Sorry.
I’m an adult with no young person in my life but would love to check this out. Can I still come?
Absolutely! And you do not need a permission slip J
I’m not sure we (parent and teen) can make each of the 5 nights. Should we still sign up?
Definitely! Come to those you can. Better to get something, than nothing. God is calling you.
I have friends from other parishes. Can I invite them too?
